Topic: Dub Poetry

This link is created for project on Digital Poetry, a modern form of poetry.

Dub Poetry is a form of performance poetry consisting of spoken words, usually laid on top on some rhythm, generally Reggae. Dub Poetry has its roots in Jamaica and started around in the 1970s.

Dub poetry is mostly of an overtly political and social nature, commonly voiced through a commentary on current events. I choose the dub poetry genre because I see Dub Poets as social commentators that oppose oppression and injustice through their works.

One of the most notable dub poets is Mutabaruka, popular know as Muta. In order to demonstrate the Hypertext and Cybertext, I selected some of Muta's work from his vast repertoire that address various issues, socially, religiously and politically.
