Hello all:
By now, most of us will have heard the sudden shocking news about our friend, classmate and schoolmate – Rowan Carter. Rowan suffered a massive heart attack while playing soccer on Saturday. He is now in intensive care at the Broward (Florida) General Hospital. It was discovered that four of his arteries were blocked. This requires a quadruple bypass surgery, but they have to wait for his recovery from sedation. Let us all hold hands across the globe and pray earnestly , and give love at this time.
A website has been created by the family to enable the Knox , Holmwood , Spalding and Christiana communities to submit individual words of encouragement, love and hope.
Rowan’s father Mr. S . Carter served Holmwood Technical High School with distinction for several decades in an administrative capacity. Rowan’s siblings are Dorothy, Glen, and Bryan. Bryan is married to Knoxite Juliet (Peart).

OMG! OMG! My niece just told me the sad news about the Holmwood boy who hung himself yesterday. A relative of the boy said that he has not been to school since school started because his mother cant afford to send him back to school because she has no money to send him back. His father was shot and kill last year in the elections. This is very very very sad. I hope his family will be comforted in this time of grieve and may the boy's soul rest in peace. |

The New York Chapter of the HPSA is saddened by the passing of Brennell (Yorke) Reid on Sunday February 10, 2008. Brennell was from the batch of 1969-1973 and was married to her high school sweetheart Jephitah Reid of the same batch.
Brennell hailed from the parish of St. Ann and later made her home with Jepitah in the Montego Bay area where her funeral will be held in the Glendevon section on Saturday February 23, 2008 at 10:00.
Our prayers and thoughts go out to the Yorke and Reid families in their time of loss.
